Doing creative stuff, whatever it may be, is a good antidote to boredom. It doesn't have to find an audience of thousands to be satisfying either. I'll never forget the sense of achievement I felt when I finished the first draft of my first full-length novel. It may never get published, I thought, but at least I've written it. See, the pleasure is in the doing. If it manages to please or amuse someone other than yourself, that's a bonus.
