As I said in the intro to this section, I wrote a novel
once. It went through numerous draft stages, as most novels
should, and it's still not right. I know that much. But as time
goes by and my objectivity towards it grows, and I learn more
about the craft of writing, I have a clearer view of how
to get that first novel right. In the meantime, I've started
work on another one. Here's an excerpt from each.
I'm Not Taurus
As a typical first novel, about half of this is
straight autobiography, with the rest being dramatic embellishments.
This first chapter details a sad moment in my life, and is still
painful to recall even now.
Little Sister
When I was six years old my mother had her final baby.
The baby, a girl mum called Jaclyn, died shortly after her birth. I
often wonder about the little sister I might have had.
