It's always been Yolanda
Paredes' dream to buy a house, a dream
that has seemed so far out of reach until
now.
Paredes is the single mother of
two, including a child with cerebral
palsy who needs her constant care. Her
only means of supporting them is by
cleaning houses for others.
But thanks to Habitat for
Humanity, Paredes and her two children
Ylsin, 16 and Alan, 7 will soon have
their own home - a home that will include
some much-needed handicap accessibility
for Alan, who is wheelchair bound.
The Habitat for Humainty
Committee in Hobbs selected the Paredeses
out of 75 other applicants as the first
family to receive a home.
"I feel this is a blessing
from God. I feel happy. This is an
opportunity I never thought I would have.
It's always been my dream, but it seemed
so impossible," Paredes said.
