The World Is Not Enough
Waste of time... Thank god I didn't have to pay. I don't like James Bond anyway. That tuxedo makes him look like a violent misogynistic Mr. Belvedere. Directed by Michael "I need the money or prestige" Apted, who is otherwise a good director (see the UP documentaries). The film's final "pun" is enough to make me start shouting profanity at the screen.

Dr. Laura Schlessinger
Dr. Laura is a hypocrite and a monster. She sure as hell annoys me. I just read an anti-abortion article that she wrote which claimed that "blah blah if women weren't so promiscuous there wouldn't be a need for abortion blah blah..." The sad thing is that people actually buy into the kind of unintelligent right-wing crap that she peddles (yes, at last a suitable usage of the term 'peddle') on her show. This is written to illustrate my ill-temper for the people who make society worse not better.

Dimmer, "Evolution"

All I gotta say is the album better be good (and better than this single). "Evolution" is a smudge too sparse. This has some good guitar bits, but I don't WANT bits! I want POLLUTED BURNING RIVERS of guitar!!! My giddy relief at the mere PRESENCE of a Dimmer Single prevents me from fully slagging it, but I think Shayne Carter's been hanging around with Fiona McDonald too much, I mean he even kind of SINGS like her here. Where's the Heazer when you need him??
(Update, six months later:) I take it all back. This song rules.

Canada Day, Kamloops Exhibition Association Grounds

Canada Day at the KXA reminds me of how much I hate Canada. I spent the whole day telling people, "No, the band is in the other room," in order to get my tuition credit. Lesson learned--I will never, ever attend any sort of Canada Day function whatsoever unless there are significant amounts of cash involved.
