Part of my own family ancestry has already been traced. The closest person of this family to me was the mother of my grandfather, my grandfather' s father Juho Päivinen married Johanna Crohns. The first member of the Crohns in Finland was a soldier from Germany. One of his sons stayed in Finland and the other moved to live in Stockholm. Many of the Crohns family have stayed working in the Finnish army, as for example Lieutenant Fredrik Johan Crohns and Jakob Crohns in the company of the Colonel, through years 1718-1810. From 1800' s until 1940 there are at least 7 Cadets called Crohns in the Finnish Army. All Crohns in Finland originate from this same family.
