The Shadow Wood LibraryStructure of the CouncilStructureAt the Head of the guild stands the Advocate. Then come The Eye of Wisdom, The Sword of Virtue, The Keeper of Keys, The Keeper of Lore and The Heart of Spirituality. Together with the Advocate those members are the Council of Five. They usually serve the Advocate with their council helping him to make the right decisions. Under certain circumstances, like war, the Advocate can call on the Council of Five to get decisions made without the rest of the members and outside the normal meeting times. At regular meetings all members have the same equal vote. Since one of the guild's foundations is friendship amongst its members, there shouldn't be many orders given. But usually the 2nd highest ranking person is the Sword of Virtue, followed by the Eye of Wisdom, the Heart of Spirituality and then the other two members of the Council of Five, the Keeper of Lore and the Keeper of the Keys. Also younger, less experienced members, should listen well, when the older, more experienced ones have to offer them their wisdom. Training is an important part of the guild, not only physical training, but also the training of the mind and the growth one can get from learning about the Virtues. Members should seek out others to train them and also offer their services to others. OOC: on OOC decisions every member has the same equal vote, with the Advocate having the final say if no decision can be found. There are no other restrictions for OOC votes and decisions.
Promotions People will get elected into offices by all the members of the council. This should ensure that only people with enough dedication, skill and trust by the others will be voted in charge. The voting shall take place every 4 months for one position. On every single month of the year one office will be open to find someone for it. After a member gets voted into an office the oath to the guild shall be renewed in a ceremony outlined at the rites and ceremonies page. This ceremony will take place the same month the voting will be done. Recruits will be judged by their roleplaying and commitment to the guild. A recruit has three chances to be allowed to take the test to become a full member. After two weeks in the guild, the council will vote the first time on allowing the Recruit to take the test, being the first of the three chances. The next second vote takes place one week later, at the 3rd week, and so on. If all three votes fail because of voting (and not because they can't be taken or of other reasons) the recruit must leave the guild. The Test the Recruit has to take and the following ceremony are outlined at the rites and ceremonies page. |
