tourist photos: lunenburg

I told you I'd have these up eventually, didn't I?

red and blue houses abound

This is, I think, Montague Street in Lunenburg. I thought the houses in Halifax were brightly coloured. I was wrong.

this is a maud lewis painting

The view from Lunenburg harbour. This picture didn't turn out so well, but it still proves that Maud Lewis didn't make anything up.

andrew is a fisherman

Andrew on the Lunenburg docks.

Lunenburg is unusual for a Nova Scotian town in that a lot of its original settlers were German or Swiss. Hence the name, which I can't translate (burg is easy enough, but what means Lunen?). It's still a fishing town, especially big on scallops (pronounced "skollops" in this province).

sunset

Sunset over the stern of the Bluenose II.

magnolia's grill

Andrew at the restaurant where we ate dinner. It was very quaint. The seafood was awesome.

And there we go. There's the second part of our trip down the shore.
