Name: Elinor. Middle name: Caitlin. Last name: not very common, especially in conjunction with the "Elinor," so I ain't puttin' it on the web.
Astrological sign: Libra, just off the cusp of Virgo.
Age: 21
Height: 5' 4"
Level of Education: An Ontario Secondary School Diploma and half a BA.
Occupation: Slackass beeyatch
Birthplace: Toronto, Ontario
Current Residence: Halifax, Nova Scotia
Marital status: Girlfriend.
How many children: Just me.
Do you drink (alcohol): What a stupid question. Yes. Always yes. Since I was a toddler, yes. But not much.
Do you smoke: No.
Favorite colors: Red. Maple-leaf red, garnet red, Commie red.
Favorite type of music: Anything with a tune, but especially baroque and classical (which is an utterly meaningless category because it's so big, but especially late 18th and early 20th-century classical music) and opera and anything with chimey electric guitars. Oh, and folk. Especially British Isles folk. I used to lull myself to sleep with Plethyn.
Favorite musical groups/performers: Barenaked Ladies (especially from back when no one liked them), Bif Naked, The Brilliant Green, The Cherry Orchard, Sarah Harmer, The Longpigs, Love Psychedelico, The Lucksmiths, Kirsty MacColl, The Orange Peels, Bonnie Pink, Joel Plaskett, Radiohead (although I kind of tuned out after "OK Computer"), Stan Rogers, Sloan, The Smiths, The Sundays, Shannon Worrell...I'm really undisciplined about this stuff.
Favorite soundtracks: Amélie and High Fidelity.
Favorite album at the moment: I'm between albums. I'm listening to a bunch of singles on mp3.
What's in your home CD player right now: This.
What's in you car CD player right now: What makes you think I have a car? I don't have a car.
Do you play an instrument: Not really. I sing, but only to myself.
One pillow or two: One at a time. There are four on my bed.
Croutons or bacon bits: Ew.
Favorite salad dressing: Anything you can see through that isn't sweet. Sweet and creamy salad dressings are gross.
Have you ever had your appendix or tonsils removed: No.
Have you ever gone skinny-dipping: I wish.
Do you make fun of people: What? Who are you? People who don't make fun of other people, if they even exist, are boring and deserve to be made fun of themselves. Anyway, yes. Behind their backs.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up: Novelist. I decided that very early.
What would be your dream job now: Novelist, if I had the inspiration. Or editor.
Have you ever been convicted of a crime: No. I'm not sure I've ever committed a crime. A little petty theft, maybe.
Places you'd most like to visit: Oh, Lord. Japan. New York City. Newfoundland. Northern Québec. Baffin Island. Iceland. Madagascar. Pretty much anywhere in Europe. Minnesota. San Francisco. New Zealand. Australia (especially Melbourne and Sydney). New Orleans. Hudson's Bay. Thousands. And that's just the places I haven't seen before. I want to go back to a whole bunch of places.
Your first car: Three inches long. A fire truck.
Dream car: A mini. Or a cute little VW with good mileage. I don't have a lot of opinions about cars.
Toothpaste: Crest. Meh.
Shampoo/Conditioner: Meh. Both.
Favorite season: Fall.
Favorite holiday: Christmas. Natch.
Favorite board/card game: Hardly ever play them. Backgammon maybe.
Favorite hobbies: Writing, taking my website apart and putting it back together, playing with pictures in PSP, reading (sometimes), arguing, watching and mocking terrible movies, downloading random mp3s and Japanese music videos, forcing other people to watch Japanese music videos until their eyes roll back in their heads.
Favorite sports to play: Ha ha ha ha ha ha. And may I ask, what's your favourite kind of infection? Ha ha ha. Badminton. HA.
Favorite sports to watch: Ha ha ha. Figure skating. If I have to.

Favorite place to visit: Quebec, Quebec, Quebec.
What is your bad time of day: Midday sucks.
What is your good time of day: Early morning, late afternoon, night-time around 10 pm.
Favorite perfume or cologne: Anything in a little spray that fades away within 30 minutes. I enjoy pointless scents. Also, the vast majority of department-store perfumes are nasty.
Favorite scent of candle: They're all way too strong.
Favorite flower/plant: Rose. My dad used to grow them in our back yard when I was little. And lilac.
Favorite subject in school: English, math, French.
Least favorite subject in school: Science, Business Studies (yuck!), music (I sucked at my instrument and all the stuff we played was boring as hell; I liked singing way better).
Favorite authors: Ugh, don't ask me that. I've read all of Margaret Laurence and Robertson Davies and I like Margaret Atwood a lot and in general, bleah, I am a creature of unformed tastes. Reading Alice Munro is like hanging out with my grandmother, so that's neat.
Favorite book genre: Meh.
Favorite book: No.
Current book I'm reading: David Copperfield.

Favorite Snapple: They're all syrupy and gross.
Favorite alcoholic drink: Varies. Girly: White Russians, Grasshoppers, anything with Galliano. Sorta girly: Belle-Vue Kriek, Tom Collins. Non-girly: Keith's, Propeller (the dark one), Creemore, Rickards Red...you know, beers that don't suck.

Best friends: Alison, Amy, Andrew, my mum.
Worst enemies: Myself.
Interesting fact about your childhood: I used to do a Jimmy Durante impression. I can't do it any more.
How many rings before you answer the phone: Two, so I can check out the Call Display. If it's obviously for Amy, I don't pick it up at all. (Voice mail is more trustworthy than I am.)
The first thing you think of in the morning: BEEP-BEEP, BEEP-BEEP, BEEP-BEEP, SMACK, godthatsanannoyingnoise, mmmmrrrmmmm, sleep is good.
Favorite thing to do when you're home alone: Play music and sing along. Or just sing.
Things that make you feel good: Inspiration, strokes of good luck and e-mail.
Things you don't like: Creepy-crawly anything (bugs, slugs, etc.), right-wingers, preachiness, sappiness, terrible spelling, people who don't look things up.
Do you get motion sickness: When there are a lot of stops and starts, yeah. I hate riding on buses and on streetcars in heavy traffic.

Do you sleep with stuffed animals: Walter.
Did you have imaginary friends or a blanket as a child: A yellow blanket, but I don't remember it very well.
What is on the walls of your room: A million printouts of pictures - Tommy, Morrissey in the '80s, Kirsty, Marilyn, Andrew as a baby - and some postcards I've picked up over the years. My grandfather's old ties. A green sarong with pink flowers on it. Pages from an old calendar. It's a work in progress.
What words or phrases do you overuse: "Actually," "burn," "no kidding," and (mostly to the TV) "oh, shut the fuck up."
Coolest things anyone ever gave you: Presents are always cool.
How would you characterize your political leanings: Lefty. Soft-socialist, maybe. Constantly scandalized, definitely.
If you could pick one super-human power, what would you choose: Teleportation. Definitely.
