BCP?
Wuzzup!
Tell us a short history on the band?
Way back in the days where we didn't had to shave yet, our former Singer and my good friend Martijn and I decided that it was time to start a band so that we could immortalize the insane thoughts we were having.
how would you describe your music?
I would describe it as a mixture of styles of music that everybody in the band listens too. We all like Punk, so I think that's the red line in our songs, but we like to experiment with all sorts of music within each song.
Which bands are you influenced by?
Just me? o.k. I'm the one that likes Punkrock a lot. My favorite bands would have to be (cliché but true) the Mighty Mighty Bosstones/NOFX/StrungOut/Zebrahead.
How has your music developed over the past years?
Slowly
Where do you see it going in the future?
I hope somewhere further than the rehearsal studio.
Is there something you would like to propagate with your music?
I think that "Be yourself" is the best message you can take out of our lyrics, please don't take our lyrics too seriously, cuz a bunch are just plain silly, so I guess you could say that we don't really propagate anything except maybe "be yourself" and "long lives laughter"
How did your last cd do? How many did you sell?
About 200 copies
How were the reactions?
The Aardschok magazine liked it enough to give us a 7 for it, Labels where not in the picture (except Tocado records, and we all know how that ended.)
You released it on your own Nel Frikadel Records, right? Will there be any other releases on that label?
We are trying to pump back some life into it, so there probably will be some new material of diverse bands coming from our little labeltje.
How was the experience of releasing your own cd?
It was great, it took an awful long time until we could finally touch our CD, but it was worth the wait.
Would you do it again?
Definitely.

Do you believe strongly in the DIY-principles?
Yes very much, that way you choose eggs for your money.
What was the coolest show you ever played?
For me that was opening Tocado's release party of "Heel Erg Punk Vol.1" in the main hall in Nighttown, that stage brings out the beast in a man.
And the worst?
That must have been a show in Harderwijk, together with Nix (who later changed their name to Stoke and unfortunately ceased to exist) We had the worst time finding the place and drove for approximately 4 hours until we arrived, once we came inside the place was empty and it was so small you had to walk bent over otherwise you'd bump your head. They obviously didn't count on us because there was almost nothing to drink or eat. the show sucked too because all of the above really took away the spirit, and there was no one who seemed to care. We finished the show though but got the hell out of there a.s.a.p.
Did you ever go on tour?
We did a mini tour of four shows through France (Rennes/Tours/Granville/LeHavre) That was the best experience I ever had with BCP. Everything about it was just awesome. Even the boring parts.
Any plans to do it again?
Plans or dreams? Unfortunately we do not have any concrete plans to do another tour, but we will make them for sure.
You have a new singer?
Yes we do.
Why did your former singer leave?
He felt that what he was doing wasn't him no more. He felt like an idiot doing it.
How are things going with your new frontman?
Good, he's been adjusting with us for a year now which makes him just as BCP as the rest of us.
You recently released a new demo, tell me about it?
Because we have a new singer we basically have to start all over again. So what better way than to release a Demo. It's called "Not going anywhere for a while?" and contains 6 songs which we recorded in six hours time with an 8-track minidisk recorder. (very DIY) We don't have it for sale actually, for the simple reason that we don't have any money to make official copy's of it, so we kinda burn them ourselves and xerox the covers ourselves. The main goal of the demo is to play as many shows as we can to collect enough money for a second full length album.
Any last words?
A day without laughter is a wasted day. Take a look at yourself before you judge others.
Thank you, Rob!
