What did the press say about Undebatable Ground
In january of 1998 Undebatable Ground released their demo "Wrong Impressions." Here are some reviews:
"The quality demos keep rolling on in this issue. Undebatable Ground is an odd name, but quite a fomidable 5 piece hardcore band who sport a clean straight forward hardcore sound on this 7 song tape. Seems like not too long ago every demo I was getting was a chugga-chugga new school kickboxingtape. Now it's a return to the days of old and I'm not complaining one bit as long as things stay fresh. If I'm forced to pick a com parable band it would be 59 times the pain as U.G. has a somewhat similar formula which is obviously working on this tape. I'm glad to see more bands playing like this, however as the waters become more crowded it will take that much more effort and originality to stand head and shoulders above the rest. Undebatable Ground has done that with this tape."

"NYHC from Capelle a/d IJssel, it's all possible and it doesn't surprise me a bit. On this tape UG proves that they're nothing less than all those NY bands visiting our country. Very hard and especially varied music. Correct lyrics, that are also printed in the booklet. And that's something you have to dare, because subjects like Straight Edge, animal sufferings and other things are not avoided. Maybe it sounds a little "macho" sometimes, but these guys play hadcore with their heart. You can also tell that because singer Richard and guitarplayer Marc are responsible for the Rotterdam HC fanzine Sterker door Strijd. So, an acquisition for the Rotterdam loud music scene. Bassplayer Martijn made the booklet by the way, and it's really beautiful. Not macho, but plain cool!"

"Now and then, the heavy and exciting hardcore Undebatable Ground makes on their Wrong Impressions tape sounds pressing (like in the beginning of Face off to survive), but speeds up after a cool bass-intro, just in time not to be predictable, into Conspiracy of Silence (which was also on the Heel Erg Punkcd).
After that the nicest song on the cassette, Living on the Straight Edge, comes which is also lyrically very good: "This song is a protest towards those who think they're some kind of elevated race. People who think this way, don't know what straight edge is.". The seven songs on Wrong Impressions rock like hell and the final song "First Sight" is a song that bands like Verbal Assault (I had to think of them listening to UG) can be jealous of. And that for only 5 bucks!!!"

"I'm speechless, this demo is very good! Newschoolhardcore like Snapcase, Strife and add some other Victorybands to that. My favourites are Face off to Survive and Glazed Image."

"Undebatable Ground plays furious hardcore. Pumping hardcore that blasts catching out of you speakers. A little in the style of my old hadcoreheroes Warzone. Other influences are Snapcase, Sick of it All and Agnostic Front. The lyrics contain wise messages on subjects like AIDS, adultery and veganism. It surprises me that these guys weren't born in New York. This Rotterdam Hardcore is nothing less than any of the bands from the Big Apple I listened to ten years ago. And that for only five bucks!"

"Undebatable Ground plays, like they say, Rotterdam Hardcore. In other words a mixture of oldschool, punk, metal and oi! Songs like Face off to Survive and Living on the Straight Edge are definately influenced by bands like Warzone and Agnostic Front. The recordings are also of a very good quality. This is a band we'll undoubtedly hear lots more of in the future, mark my words."

"This demo from Rotterdam hardcore band Undebatable Ground contains 7 songs of oldschool hardcore, which reminds me a bit of Swedish bands like 59 TIMES THE PAIN or RAISED FIST. Thereby they have some pretty original kind of metallic guitar riffing every now and then. The songs are mostly mid tempo to fast NYHC styled hardcore with cool recognizable chorusses. Within the style they play, I think U.G. manage to be pretty original. The only weaker point are the drums in my opinion, which sound sometimes a bit to simple. Nevertheless I think this is a cool demo. Oh, I almost forgot the neat looking design of the demo, with all the (strong) lyrics printed inside the booklet."
