to clarify, my @#$% machine won't let me enable the bloody usb ports.. well, it does actually, but wehn i pug something into it and it installs, ie my webcam, win2k, having assigned my usb ports to irq9 like it did my NIC, Sound, Video, ACPI interface, and DSL modem, decides "i don't like this" and hard-reboots my machine. joy of joys. so me being the smart cookie i am, i go into bios and decide i'm going to make everything play nice, as i can't reassign any of the damn irqs in device manager in win2k. ok, i have everything assigned an irq without plug and pray's help. turned off "Plug and play OS installed?" bootup stats show everything on it's own irq just as planned..

then windows decides "Fuck you and your BIOS settings, you LOSER" and assigns everything back to irq 9. i reboot and go back to bios, and they are all teh same as i'd set them and the stat screen on bootup shows the same, so i boot windows again and they're all on 9 again. wtf.. windows ignores the bios settings. fuck bill gates, fuck microsoft, and fuck windows.

all i wanted was a webcam..
