BAND PROFILE
* A name has been changed to protect the intergrity of the individual mentioned in here, who is no longer involved with Some Assembly Required.
Alright boys and girls, welcome to Some Assembly Required's band profile page. We have a relatively short history, but there were a lot of changes involved in a period starting back in September of 1999. Initially, the band was composed of six friends who basically knew nothing about having a band, but knew they liked Offspring and punk music. * Ervile was the guitarist at the time, with Ryan Zielonka (guitarist and vocalist), James Sutter (bassist, lead vocalist), Lee Meyers, and Andy Lake (former bassist), knowing nothing at the time. The first few band practices were relatively unproductive, but the tide changed with two major events.
First, Ryan Zielonka got ahold of a guitar, and began learning on an acoustic. Andy Lake learned how to play bass during this time. The first major cut from the band was Lee Meyers, who initially was supposed to be the drummer, left and pursued bass. James Sutter was established as the lead vocalist due to his previous experience in chorus. Then, around Christmas time, * Ervile was removed from the band due to conflicts with other band members.
Now, the band was starting to really form up with Ryan Zielonka, Andy Lake, and James Sutter all getting experience. James picked up the guitar and began learning and creating songs, along with Ryan Zielonka who also wrote. Unfortunately, the band had no drummer. Within a few months, the band would receive its first gig, and get its drummer (Anthony Sutter, James's brother). Unfortunately, the turmoil wasn't over yet.
Approximately a month before the concert (planned to be on May 26th), and executive decision was made. Due to conflicting schedules with school, work, and a variety of other factors, the bassist Andy Lake decided to let go of the reins. Andy Lake is now participating in a seperate musical venture. James Sutter took ahold of the bass, and the final roster came down to the two that started it all (Ryan and James), plus one (Anthony). Their May 26th concert gave them the recognition and acceptance amongst local bands, as well as providing the audience with a show to be remembered.
Their history isn't over yet. Just wait and see where they go.
Below are the profiles of the individual band members. We'll have pictures of their ugly mugs up soon enough.
