| The nose landing gear wouldn't deploy on this Marine F-4, so after we recovered all the aircraft and moved them to the bow of the ship we rigged the barricade to catch it. This time it was no drill. Your adrenalin is pumping because you know there's going to be a crash on the flight deck, you just don't know how bad it's going to be, and I've seen some bad ones! You can see by these photo's that the barricade worked perfectly, the pilots and the flight deck crew lucked out on this one, and the jet sustained very little damage. |
