The Rail's top editorialist, Jeffrey Block, with a special
Super Bowl preview:
The Super Bowl: Who Gives a Fuck?
It's that time of year again, friends. Well, maybe like a week after
that time. At any rate, it's Super Bowl weekend, and I honestly couldn't
be more pumped to give less of a shit than I do now. OK, I'm not
the biggest football fan in the world. I usually just catch Monday
Night and some of the playoffs. But I never miss the big game.
Year after year, gridiron beasts collide in the greatest sports spectacle
known to man. Except this year.
What a scintillating five hours this will be. First
off, the Rams are going to win readily. No one denies this.
Secondly, everyone wants the Rams to win. There are no underdog Patriot
supporters this year. Why? How should I know? Maybe it's
because they don't play for a city, but a general region. I don't
even know where New England is. Out East somewhere probably.
Finally, I, along with the rest of America, am going to have to sit through
this five hour dreck-a-thon to see, like, five minutes of good commercials.
And I probably won't even buy the shit!
Hmm, I wonder if TiVo can be set to just record the commercials...
