Because I live in Europe, when NSYNC released I Want You Back, we found ourselves on the receiving end of JC's crack dream. Have y'all ever seen the Euro version? Mad comedy. Mad.
NSYNC are in a space station-type thingy. There's this chick with huge eyes and bad hair who randomly appears on a video phone. Foreshadowing of Digital Getdown, yup. They wear a lot of Lycra. They do a funny dance. I laugh.
I liked the song. We all liked it. We also all thought the video was mucho retardo. They do this thing where they stand in a row and wave their arms like a demented squid. It makes them look like a Hindu deity. When wasted we would perform this dance. It amused us.
Remember, this was back in JC's Caeser Hair days. He got this pained look whenever his verse came up and he did this little bop-bop-bop to the beat. He was odd.
Justin's hair was short and crusty. I would watch the video and wonder who these freaks were and why they were wearing bicycle shorts. Shades of Lance Armstrong. Also very gay. You could see their nipples. Not good.
Verdict was: music okay, video bad.
