Superbowl 2001

First up: this was on Napster less than ten minutes after it was over. Significantly less. Amazing. Moving on, here's what we thought:

There was a "Steven Marry Me" sign in the audience. AHAAHAHA.

JC is so the gay biker guy. I give up. You suck, man. Did he get to sing? Did I blink and miss it? Or was it just Justin And Some Guys?

Justin, where is your hair? Did you sell it to finance Brit's pearls?

Nice of Justin to give Chris the high school loser line. I KNEW he wouldn't do it. Bastard.

Chris removed the dreads for the occasion. Thank you, dude.

Was Lance even on the stage? What about Joe? Was he there?

There were two camera swipes. Well, one was a camera point. Joe always points. He's like Posh Spice.

How about Justin's dance off with Steve? Ahahaha to the "step to the left, step to the right" choreography at the end there, people. So very Up In Smoke of you. If you got five more people on that stage you could start your own culture. You'd totally have a viable gene pool. And it would be a fascinating experiment in anthropology.

Justin and Steve stealing each other's lines? Classic.

Okay, so Justin's spark gloves were hella cool. I want a pair. They kicked ass. They were… really, really… unsucky.

Brit's glove/arm-sock thing - erm. Sweetie, don't listen to JC when he gives you accessorizing tips, mkay? Did you see her trip? Poor kid. She was singing live. See, she CAN do it. Steve was so macking on her. She's a brave girl to get up on a stage with Mary J.

I bet Justin was just awed to be onstage with Nelly.

I am in deep, all-pervasive awe of the stage managers. I don't even want to know how they got all that shit and all those people on the field and off again in enough time. Very, very impressive, people. Mad, mad props.

Nice use of the Matrix Cam there at the end. Okay, so it was cool. It was. Just unnecessary.

There were no walls. I am pleased.

It did not suck. In fact, okay, it rocked fairly hard.

That is all.
