Tyrant were formed in 1999 by vocalist Keith Mullins and guitarist Jonathan Dooley.They met in a bar one night and started chatting about music.The two had been in numerous bands but they never worked out so they decided to start to work together.They acquired the services of Colm Clancy to play both bass and guitar.He added a new dimension to the band.
After their first practise the three knew they had something special and that this band would be the one to go somewhere.It was obvious that a drummer was badly needed and after extensive searching they finally found Niknak, a drummer from Dunmore whom they found over the internet.Now the band was complete and they began to play as many gigs around Galway as possible, with styles ranging from David Gray to Rage Against The Machine, Pearl Jam to Counting Crows to mention but a few.
