Video Chat Help
|
- If you see a red
"X"
in the upper left hand corner of video chat page, you may
not have "Microsoft's NetMeeting
application" installed on your computer or you
may need to download and install the most current
version. DownLoad it
Here (it should take about 10 minutes).
- **Aol users have to minimize Aol software and open Internet Explorer to see thier real IP Number .
- To start a video chat, You will first have to find
out the address of the computer that you plan on
connecting to. The best way to find your IP address is to click on UNDOCK under netmeeting then click on help then click on about neteeting .At the bottom of that window you will see a set of numbers e.g.
( 168.234.231.2 ) write down that number and give it to your friend
- If you call and it says caller can not accept calls ,tell your friend to open net meeting from his computer ,click on call on the top and click on automaticly accept calls ,you should also do the same thing if you want people to be able to call you
- You do not have to have a pc camera to use netmeeting ,you will be able to see your friend's video but he will not see yours .
- Every time you or your friend log off the internet and come back ,you have to get the new IP number to be able to video chat .
- After calling and connecting ,it may take a little time to recieve and transmit audio and video through Netmeeting .
- Video chat is for 2 people only and its private ,no one else will hear you or see you ( great for family meetings ) .
